Pinnacle Wind Farm at NewPage - Project Overview US Wind Force is developing the Pinnacle Wind Farm at NewPage in Mineral County, WV. The project will consist of roughly 23 turbines along the top of Green Mountain, just southwest of Keyser.
It will have a maximum generating capacity of approximately 55 megawatts and will generate about 170 million kilowatt-hours per year. As a reference, the average American household uses just over 10,000 kilowat-hours per year and the average Allegheny Power customer uses about 12,000 kilowatt-hours per year. Based on this data, the project will supply enough power for about 14,100 households annually, or about 600 households per turbine! The power generated by the project will enter the electric grid through an existing transmission line that crosses the property. At a time when the costs of all energy resources are soaring, this project will make a positive contribution to the local community, its economy and the nation. The project will add clean, domestically produced energy to the grid and add to local economy through the jobs it creates for its construction and operation as well as the taxes it will pay.
